| Duties & Responsibilities: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| 1.About the job 2.Based in the Kabul, the incumbent will be in charge of managing the Finance Department of OXUS Afghanistan. He/She will be reporting to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of OXUS Afghanistan. 3.II. Responsibilities: 4.The Financial Manager will be reporting to the CEO of OXUS Afghanistan. 5.He/She will perform the following tasks: 6.Financial Management 7.Budget and forecasting : manage the creation of annual, quarterly, and/or monthly budgets and forecasts at a national and cost center level. 8.Financial Control : assessing cost center and product profitability 9.Budget follow-up and planning 10.Accounting supervision: definition of an analytical architecture and supervision of local accounting staff (follow-up and verification of bills registration, accounting coding and project allocation, cash management etc…) 11.Financial reporting to HQ and Donors 12.Internal Control 13.Monitor the correct application of OXUS financial procedures 14.Support auditors in developing an audit methodology and train auditors to perform audits of OXUS branches and sub-branches 15.MIS strengthening 16.Ensure proper deployment and use of accounting software 17.Training and capacity building 18.Develop the skills and methodology of the local accounting department 19.Regulatory compliance, Financial reporting, Donor relations 20.Make sure that regulatory and funders reporting is timely and accurate 21.Provide HQ with IFRS compliant accounting data for consolidation purposes 22.Make sure that reports to donors are timely, accurate, and in full compliance with donor stipulations 23.Represent the institution during meetings (with donors, Government, etc…) in the absence of the CEO 24.Develop relationships with potential donors, development agencies and commercial investors. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Qualifications required: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| 1.Masters degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field; 2.5+ years of progressively responsible experience in financial management, the majority of which in a banking, microfinance, or financial services setting; 3Demonstrated success in building and managing a finance team; 4.Proficiency in application of internal auditing theory, standards, procedures and techniques; 5.Excellent financial skills and analytical skills; 6.Excellent writing skills for internal and external reporting on programme financial performance; 7.Excellent communication skills to be able to present complex financial details to non-financial staff; 8.Ability to operate in a cross-cultural environment requiring flexibility; 9.Integrity to keep sensitive information secure; 10.Confidence and determination; 11.Ability to work under high pressure 12.Passion for development work; 13.Work experience in developing countries and unpredictable security situations; 14.Fluency in English; 15.Ability to operate Microsoft Word, Excel; 16.Knowledge of Dari a plus. | |||||||||||||||||||||
