| Over the three decades all indicators suggest increases in the number of drug users according to the survey conducted by Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and UNODC in 2005 there are totally 920000 drug users in Afghanistan, which consist 3.8% of the total population of the country, among them 740000 are males, 120000 females and 60000 are children. To ameliorate the problem on October 2005 the Drug Demand Reduction Department was established in Ministry of Public health (MoPH). In 2006, ten drug addicts’ treatment centers were established in 10 provinces consisting of two 20-bed residential drug addicts’ treatment centers in Balkh and Nangarhar provinces and eight community based in Kunduz, Jawzjan, Faryab, Farah, Nimroz, Ghore, Bamyan and Ghazni provinces which are supported by Counter Narcotics Trust Fund, Ministry of Counter Narcotics Gov. | Duties & Responsibilities: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Supportive Supervision of CNTF project activities in the provinces. 2. Help line managers, provincial project coordinators and other key staff in planning and implementation of the project. 3. Provide technical assistance to all Provincial Coordinators 4. Develop standard supervision tools/checklists (in close collaboration with field staff). 5. Ensure quality of programs through regular technical follow up 6. Data collection through monthly reports of the provinces 7. Provide full feedback to the provinces on the M&E and reporting problems and solutions to the problems 8. Adapt or develop training materials and conduct or coordinate trainings for strengthening and improvement of program 9. Collect monthly report of the project and give the relevant feed back to the provinces 10. Post training monitoring and ensure the implementation of the training. 11. Develop supervision work plan 12. On the job training during supervisory visit. 13. Develop action plan based on supervision feed back and follow up. | |||||||||||||||||||||
| Qualifications required: | |||||||||||||||||||||
| 1. Afghan Nationality 2. MD degree. 3. At least three years working experience in public health in the MoPH, UN agencies, National or International NGOs. 4. Familiar with the Policy, strategies, rules and regulations of the MoPH. 5. Computer knowledge of MS Windows, MS Office, Internet. 6. Ability to report Writing. 7. Fluency in English language and written skills 8. Kind and friendly personality 9. Having abilities at work and good inter personal communication skills 10. Ability to travel to the provinces for supervision of the related health facilities. | |||||||||||||||||||||
