15km of Road in Kabul, Kunduz and Kapisa
with the construction of 15Km Road in Kabul, Kunduz and Kapisa provinces, the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development provided 10,628 rural families with needed facilities in term of commute to district centers and Cities.
One of these projects is the graveling of 10.5Km road in Kundoz which connects 23 villages to Qalai Zal district that also employed 24 DDRed personnel and created on job training for these officers to reintegrate in the society gaining needed skills.
Also, construction of 4.7Km road in Hesai Awale Kohistan district in Kapisa Province connected Khamzargar to Toghak, which besides benefiting 27,768 villagers, facilitated the 1,000 students with safe route to walk, bike or ride to and from school. Surface treatment of this road is DBST (Double Bituminous Surface Treatment), which is applied for rural roads with average traffic use of light loaded vehicles.
Furthermore, the construction of a bridge and 500m road in Guldarah district of Kabul connected 2500 families from 12 different villages to the district, providing a safe passage against the raising water level in the summer.
Mr. Ajmal Paiman, the spokesperson of MRRD said, “The fund for these projects, amounting US$765,061 (Afs38100000), came from MRRD budget and implemented through National Solidarity Programme NSP and National Rural Access Programme NRAP”.

The completion of these projects responded to the problems of 38 CDCs in above provinces in term of access to roads, culverts and bridges, also it enabled the villagers to easily access the cities, social centers and local markets. The farmers can easily supply their produce to the market to make the fortune. This fact is instrumental in developing the individual economy, and there facilitate the macroeconomic development, which will increase the communities’ trust on the constructiveness of ongoing development efforts in the country.
Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development if Islamic Republic of Afghanistan is productively engaged in reconstruction and development of villages of the country through its national programmes such as The National Water & Sanitation Programme WatSan, National Rural Access Programme NRAP, National Area Based Development Programme NABDP and National Solidarity Programme NSP.
