BRAC Afghanistan Bank looking for Bank Manager

BRAC Afghanistan Bank (BAB), is a Local Commercial Bank licensed by DAB (Da Afghanistan Bank) Central Bank of Afghanistan with institutional shareholding of BRAC, International Finance Cooperation (IFC), Shorecap International and Triodos Bank of Netherlands.

BRAC Afghanistan Bank has been operating in Afghanistan since November 2006, enabling opportunity to a good number of businesses in Kabul, Herat, Mazar-e-Sharif and Nangarhar through its Fifteen Units Offices and Four Branches. As a new and growing Bank, we are looking for candidates to join us for the following functions:

Duties & Responsibilities:
Job Summary
The Branch Manager is responsible for the administration and efficient daily operation of a full service branch office, including operations, lending, product sales, customer service, and security and safety in accordance with the Bank’s objectives.

The incumbent will be responsible for leading the branch staff to provide quality services and promote a full range of Retail Banking financial products to our customers. The incumbent required to oversee the security controls of the branch and ensure the branch operations in compliance with the Bank’s standard.

Key Responsibilities
1. Take full responsibility of the Vault, Branch Petty Cash and also maintain the security of the branch.

2. Comply fully with the AML policy of DAB and FinTRACA.

3. Achieve and exceed all sales and business targets on the agreed plan and design strategies for the implementation of branch selling and promotion activities.

4. Strive to become market leader in the local environment through formulating and implementing strategies that help the branch edge over competition in the local market.

5. Build and maintain a high quality team with synergy and motivate staff towards exceeding individual as well as branch common goals and objectives.

6. Ensure smooth branch operation and achieve satisfactory audit rating through meeting all requirements of control and service standards.

7. Uphold the image of the Bank in accordance with its image positioning in the market place and to ensure all service standards are met.

8. Contribute to the bank’s success through proactively giving feedback, ideas and recommendation for improvement of quality services.

9. To supervise Branch Staff including Head Teller, Tellers and CSOs.

10. Develops new deposit and loan business.

11. provides a superior level of customer relations and promotes the sales and service culture through coaching, guidance and staff motivation.

12. Achieves individual and branch sales goals through new business sales, referrals and retention of account relationships.

13. Provides leadership, training and supervision; delegates day to day operations to the Operations Officer or other branch personnel.

14. Responsible for attaining established Bank and branch goals through active participation in sales management and officer call programs.

15. Participates in community affairs to increase the Bank’s visibility and to enhance new and existing business opportunities.

16. Provide monthly LCTR (Large Cash Transaction Report) and STR (Suspicious Transaction Report) to the Compliance Officer.

17. May perform duties in the absence as directed by the Line Manager.

Qualifications required:
1. University degree in Business Administration or related disciplines.

2. Minimum 5 years’ banking experience.

3. Must possess solid branch management experience.

4. Good connection with local markets with proven track record of success in business achievement.

5. Knowledge and ability to apply computer applications to include MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

6. Fluency in English, Dari and/or Pashto in speech, writing and comprehension.

7. Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

8. Good Interpersonal and team building skills.
