LEMAR takes its name from the Pashto word for sun. Launched in 2006, its mandate is to provide coverage of Pashto, Dari, Urdu and English news. Each bulletin spans local, international, finance, sports and weather news.

Current affairs programming on LEMAR includes Kaglechoona, a hard hitting, investigative style program which delves into criminal cases around the country. Kaglechoona enlightens viewers on Afghanistan’s legal process and recurring issues faced by the wider population. Lifestyle and entertainment programming includes India’s number 2 serial, Kahaani Gar Gar Khi, dubbed in to Pashto - the only Pashto dubbed daily serial in Afghanistan.

LEMAR is available free to air in Afghanistan and regionally via satellite.
