Pamir Airways was inaugurated in May 1995 and is the first private airline in the history of Afghanistan to receive the AOC from the Afghanistan Ministry of Civil Aviation. The company is named after the Pamirs, a mountainous region of central Asia

The company’s fleet started with one Boeing 707-320 and two AN-12 aircrafts. Since, Pamir Airways has purchased two additional AN-24 passenger aircrafts with a vision to increase expansion in the near future.

Pamir Airways services include domestic flights in Afghanistan and daily flights to Dubai. International flights beyond Dubai will commence in the next phase of operation. Private charter service will also be available.
