The Ministry of Communications and IT, Islamic Republic of Afghanistan has received funds from Ministry of Finance for the establishment of National Data Centre in Kabul, and it intends to apply part of the proceeds of this fund to payments under the contract for the purchase and installation of equipment for the national data centre.

The International Procurement Unit of the Ministry of Communications and IT, now invites sealed bids from eligible and qualified bidders.

Bidding will be conducted through the International Competitive Bidding (ICB) procedures specified in the procurement Guidelines of the Ministry of Finance of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, and are open to all bidders from Eligible Source Countries.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from International Procurement Unit, MCIT Services (email b.hassam@moc.gov.af, fpd@moc.gov.af and inspect the bidding documents at the address given below from 9:00 hrs to 16:00 hrs on any working day from Saturday to Thursday, not later than Feb 10th, 2008

A complete set of Bidding Documents in English may be obtained free of charge by interested bidders on the submission of a written application to the address below or sending an e-mail to the address below, or by downloading from the MCIT web site at http://www.mcit.gov.af//

Bids must be delivered to the address below at or before the Last date and Time for submission of Bids indicated above. Electronic bidding will not be permitted. Late bids will be rejected. Bids will be opened in the presence of the bidders’ representatives who choose to attend in person at the address below on the Last date and Time mentioned above.

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Security of USD 50,000.00 or equivalent in other convertible currency in the form of bank guarantee or cash, bank cheque are not acceptable.
