First Afghan Insurance Company launched

As Pajhwak News reports, the first-ever private insurance “Afghan Insurance Company,” starts operation in Kabul with a two million dollars investment.

Asad Sakhi Farhad, president of the Afghan Insurance Company, confirmed, taht the firm had paid two million US dollars to the Finance Ministry to obtain a licence.

In case of death or damage, the company promised payments to people, personnel, goods, vehicles and aircraft insured. Indemnity would be available to people falling ill, banks, private assets of traders and transport companies.

Rahmatullah Wardak Shadman, a senior official at the Finance Ministry, said it was the first private company investing in the field of insurance in Afghanistan, where a lack of a clear law and security discouraged investors.
