International Conference in Stockholm, Sweden
THE SWEDISH COMMITTEE FOR AFGHANISTAN, SCA, is conducting a two day international conference on Afghanistan 8 – 9 November 2007 in Stockholm, Sweden. Afghanistan is a country devastated by 30 years of conflict, Soviet occupation; civil war, Taliban regime and US war on terror have all affected the lives of ordinary Afghans. Today the violence is escalating and war scenes are once again taking place in Afghanistan.
THE PROBLEMATIC SITUATION will be analysed from local, regional and global perspectives. Some of the world’s leading Afghanistan experts will give their view on driving forces, alliances, actors and the role of the neighboring countries and others. Progress, challenges and international development cooperation will also be discussed with prospects of the future.
