Afghan Wireless Communication Company (AWCC)
Afghan Wireless pioneered the advent of modern day telecom in Afghanistan as Afghanistan's first GSM Service provider. Afghan Wireless saw the future of communications in Afghanistan when others only dreamt about it. Inaugurated in April 2002 by his Excellency Hamid Karzai, Afghan Wireless made history by providing public Mobile Telecommunication and Internet services for the first time in Afghanistan. Today, we continue to push the boundaries of Telecommunications by developing new services and expanding coverage throughout Afghanistan. Afghan Wireless is a privately-owned company, founded by Ehsan Bayat with the vision to connect Afghanistan with the wider world through technology. We are dedicated to strengthen the long-term future of Afghanistan. We signed a 15 year-contract with the Ministry of Communications, which has a 20% stake in Afghan Wireless, and pledge to provide customer friendly and innovative services.
MTN Afghanistan
MTN Afghanistan is the subsidiary company of MTN Group operating in 21 countries with a subscriber base of over 100 Million. MTN provides GSM services in Afghanistan. Launched in mid 2006, we have grown to a tune of 400% in the last 12 months of operation. To spear head this growth further, we are looking for qualified and experienced candidates to fill the aforementioned positions.
Roshan
Roshan is the leading GSM mobile provider and largest telecom operator in Afghanistan with the largest and most advanced network serving more than 3.37 million customers. In January 2003, Telecom Development Company (TDCA) was issued the second GSM license for Afghanistan. TDCA trades under the name of Roshan. "Roshan" means "light" in Dari and Pashto, the two most widely spoken languages in the country. For the people of Afghanistan, Roshan brings a promise of trust, friendship, cooperation and hope for the future necessary in bringing the country out of a troubled past into a bright future. Roshan is the largest private employer in Afghanistan.
Etisalat Afghanistan
Etisalat Afghanistan is a newly established GSM operator in Afghanistan. In May 2006 Telecommunications Corporation [Etisalat of the United Arab Emirates] signed an agreement with Afghan authorities in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. to operate a GSM network across Afghanistan and become the fourth GSM operator in the country. Etisalat Afghanistan is 100% owned by Etisalat U.A.E. Etisalat UAE (the parent company) is the sixth largest company in the Middle East and has subsidiaries in Benin, Burkina Faso, Central African Republic, Egypt, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Niger Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Togo, Tanzania, and Pakistan.
