BSR-BDS was formally registered in AISA as a SME-focused organization in March 2010, with its headquarter in Balkh province, BSR-BDS Missions to bring about positive changes in all entrepreneurs business, eradicate poverty and improve employment, through providing business fundamentals awareness, capacity building programs and business services support. As Vision, BSR-BDS is the most effective and widely recognized organization working for SME development and empowering of Afghan entrepreneurs. Its strategic aims are to: • Foster entrepreneurs with national and international business aspects. • Increase local employment rate through self employment using SME establishment. • Provide vocational learning opportunities to semi and non-literate people of community in rural and urban areas. • Develop comparative products market through conducting trainings on creative producing in a firm. • Provide deferent kinds of trainings with new and update materials • Build capacity of SMEs to reach achievements that is competent of them. BSR-BDS commits to in facilitating programs & services aimed at managing quality of enterprise development catalysts and at assisting organizations in conducting their SME empowering projects. Enriching the aforesaid vision, mission and strategic goals, BSR-BDS carried out services which some of them are indicated below: 1.1 Assistance in Establishment of New SMEs Since its establishment BSR-BDS has implemented several projects with financial support of international donors assisting on creation of new Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs). The institution has carried out programs and projects targeting both male and female local enterprise establishing interested people. BSR-BDS Conducted several full-practice trainings of CEFE method on forming of new enterprises through learning enterprise’s business plan, management and organizational chart, product process cycle, principles of marketing, bookkeeping, cash flow, income statement and balance sheet at the center of Mazar-e-Sharif and districts of Balkh province. Since April 2010 BSR-BDS is proud to be implementing partner of GFA consulting Group GmbH with cooperation of GTZ Sustainable Economic Development Program (NaWi) to train participants in entrepreneurship and business planning skills. 1.2 Vocational Trainings and Income Generation Services In order to empower community and families self-sufficient and enabled in playing a vital role to help their families generate more income for their food security, BSR-BDS conducted GTZ funded vocational training on carpet weaving, computer carpet designing, computer IT and wool spinning for income improvement of community men and women people (at both rural and urban areas where the local resources and skilled- labor were available). Carpet weaving centers for 350 women and girls, computer carpet designing for 30 men and boys, IT for 30 men and boys and wool spinning centers for 160 women and girls at districts of Balkh province are the main activities carried out under the vocational services program throughout the establishment. 1.3 Capacity Building Services On November 2010 based on commitment of BSR-BDS in capacity building aspects and empowering of female entrepreneurs to enable them in using contemporary business methods, BSR-BDS conducted Business Administration and Accounting training program with accompany of Women in Business Association for 60 business women in tow times for 3 months at the Women Garden of Balkh province.
